Scribing on my iPad

36

Scribe 101– part of presentation Floyd Wray and I will be giving on scribing and context records at North Carolina State University College of Design next week.

Actually, I was not sure if this was even possible, but I did manage to create much of this on my iPad– including the original drawing and the animated version as well. I also wrote the script and created the first setof recordings on my iPhone. I used ArtStudio to do the underlay drawing and then colorized it green, then imported it into Brushes and traced over it with a black brush. I exported the actions file to my Mac, and there built a 2X resolution QuickTime movie. I used iMovie’s green screen knockout to kill the underlay, then saved it over to my PC where I used Camtasia to quickly assemble it all, with zoom and pan. I know iMovie is supposed to be able to do this as well, but frankly the interface is just too confusing. Camtasia was simple, and fast, and worked like a charm.

Well done! I’m definitely going to have to try this when I finally have time!

    Hi Chipp,

Love your movie! I’d love to know how you got around sizing issues with Brushes though. The video format always seems to cut off my Brushes “screen capture” at top and bottom!

I haven’t had the issues you have. The videos come out fullscreen for me.
